Marked by Feeds explores how identity is shaped by two canvases — the body and the screen. Tattoos once marked belonging and permanence, while today, social media defines us through endless, ever-changing “feeds.” The piece looks at how both forms of marking — ink and pixels — tell stories about who we are and how we want to be seen.As an Indigenous designer, I wanted to highlight the contrast between what lasts and what fades. Our ancestors used marks to preserve culture and connection; now, we express ourselves in spaces designed to disappear. This motion piece captures that tension — how identity moves from permanence to performance in a world of constant scrolling.
Using kinetic typography, pacing, and sound, I built rhythm and emotion through motion. The design starts controlled and minimal — like early tattoo taboos — then grows chaotic, mirroring the overstimulation of modern screen life. The project became more than a visual experiment; it was a reflection on expression, memory, and how we mark meaning in the digital age. Every transition, word, and movement was intentional — a reminder that even when our feeds vanish, the desire to be seen and remembered never does.
